Long Time No Blog !!!!

I haven't done this in forever !!!

Listen, between facebook, twitter, an occasional myspace check, 5 or so email accounts, work and family....sometimes the blog takes a back seat.

I'm back though.

I was thinking about posting the Rhianna pics but I think the last time I blogged it was about her and Breezy. Didn't feel like revisiting Rhianna.

I was thinking about throwing out one of those random questions but....nah, F#&k that today.

I don't know...what is the blog really for? Thoughts?

I think the Rhianna pics are really her! I'm hopefully naive sometimes.

I'm sick of ignorance dominating our music....we gotta have SOME balance.

I love my family.

Work starts too early....If we could do the morning show in the afternoon that would be great !!!

I think emotions are dumb! why do we need them!!!! They're troublemakers!!

I think I'm gonna move on from Goose and Cranberrys to Patron Shots ON THE REG !!!

I'm really starting to hate it when people say "Everything happens for a reason"...well what's the F&$king reason then !!!!!

I've been thinking about going to church...it just starts too early in the morning!

I wish my Dad was here to answer all these questions that I should've asked before he passed.

Why is there so much friction between men and women who love each other, A good friend once said, "you shouldn't really have to work on getting along, you just should"....or something like that. May be a misquote, but you understand!

Why is youth wasted on the young.

Sometimes I wonder..."Who really cares."

Missed Saturday.

If you have been following our trip on my blog, I apologize for no Saturday post.

Saturday went Down like this:

I got up early and walked the Riverwalk to check out the waterfront sights. Afterward, a few of us rode a street car (trolly) through the city. Despite the tragedy of Katrina, New Orleans still has some extremely beautiful areas. Later we hung out in the Harrah's casino and atched Carolina beat LSU in front of there home state fans. I found a few minutes to come up on the blackjack table too! I won sixty bucks!! Then we all went out to eat dinner with CP3 and his family. Very nice dinner at a very beautiful restaurant. Some of Chris' celebrity friends stopped by too. Mo Pete and and Jackie Long from the movie ATL.
Then everybody stayed up all night out with CP3 and his VIP status at a club called "The Republic."

As of right this second, we're getting something to eat in the ATL airport waiting to board our transfer flight back to Charlotte and its back to work tomorrow morning!

I crashed out after the show this morning. It was a Long night. Only had 45 minutes of sleep.

Crazy Town.....Fa Real!!!

Its about 1am in the triad (about midnight here) and we're still at it.

The Flight was chill. The hotel is cool. (Me and Sho's room overlooks the Mississippi river.) We ate at some restaurant on Canal street. (Nothin crazy but my food was good.). Bourbon Street is fun. The people come from all over the country and are crazy as hell. Its good times on Bourbon Street. Now we're a club called the Republic and CJ just ordered some Crown and some Grey Goose.

Leaving for New Orleans

Ok Triad.......I think I'll be updating my blog from my Blackberry all weekend while we're in New Orleans. The is the first update.

This pic is Sho Smoove sleep in the car before we even get to the Charlotte airport. He has a reputation for sleeping all the time.....especially on road trips!!! We just passed Salisbury and this dude is out already!!!!!

I have been informed that it is mandatory for me to give my opinion on this picture of Rihanna. Since I am the father of two girls....those around me would like for me to try to imagine myself in this situation.

Well...OK...If that's what you want....Here it is!

If a female in my family was to come home looking like Rihanna does in this picture...ALL HELL WOULD BREAK LOOSE !!! There wouldn't be any statements like the one that Rihanna's dad made, about he hopes she stands up for women all over. That's cool and a great thing to say for the media, I just think that the emotions caused by the situation itself would lead to a way more controversial outcome. I couldn't take it. There was a comment out there supposedly made by Jay-Z...it eluded to the fact that Chris should watch his back. I can relate to that WAAAAAYYYYY more than what Rihannas dad said !!!

That's just the nature of my Family !!!

As for the fellas, its been said over and over again. If you're dealing with a chick that makes you feel like you want to beat her ass, you gotta let her go! Don't let her provoke you into hitting her cuz then you're in a whole other category as a person. YOU WOULD BE WEAK !!! YOU'RE CORNY !!!! YOU'RE A BITCH FOR TAKING IT THERE!!! and then you would deserve for every male in that girls family to come thru and PUT THE MUTHAF*&%ING BEATS ON YOU !!

The Wild Out Valentine's Day Bailout !!!

This is Jaysen and Shonda! Jaysen is the winner of the Valentine's Day Bailout.

He messed up bad. Shonda bought him a CAR for Valentine's Day and he didn't get her ANYTHING !!!! He had to make up for it, so we decided to help him out. The tattoos were painful but they stuck it out for the love! They got the room at the Ashford Suites this weekend too, so you know what it is !!!

It's the perfect opportunity to spoil your daughters, as well as your lady.
Here's my plan.

If I spoil them every Valentine's day, by the time they get older and date, they will be used to the idea of being shown love. Expecting gifts is not what I mean. I mean hanging out spending quality time and all the positive aspects of that. Hopefully my plan will work and the selfish scrub type of dudes, who don't have my girls best interest in mind, won't even appeal to them!!! They'll be to busy looking for a guy that treats them as well as their father does!!

And we all know THAT is IMPOSSIBLE !!

Dumbing Out in the Studio

Not for any real reason......I just love the song!!!

Do as I say....not as I do.

I was always told that as a kid.



But do kids really abide by that line of thinking?



If I tell my daughters not to drink, as I crack open a heineken, are they gonna listen to what I tell them or copy what they see me doing? But don't get me wrong, its not just about drinking? At what age do you stop shielding your kids from your own bad habits.....or do you just never hide them to begin with. I used to say that when I had kids, I was gonna be an open book.....one hundred percent real. No Santa, no Easter Bunny, no Tooth Fairy....none of that!!! Then I actually had kids and that philosophy went out the window! Cuz you wanna keep them kids for as long as possible. You're scared that if you expose them to something too early, they'll develop a bad habit from it. The problem that comes into play is that you don't want to raise them to be naive about the realities of the world in the process.

I guess the answer is balance......but who knows where the line is!

I don't know.....This world is crazy....I just want my girls to be able to PRODUCTIVELY survive in it.

I love them too much to fail them!

Let me explain......In this Video, here's whats happening.

Jamin and I are really battling on these lanes. At this moment, he's struggling to hold his slim lead and the frustration is showing ( thus the growl into the camera.) My Uncle Rob's a little crazy ( you can tell by the dancing) but very entertaining (once again, you can tell by the dancing.) My sis, Khalea ( and the rest of us Nephews and Neices of his) love to imitate the things that he does for our own personal amusement (you can tell by how she's dancing!) My Brother Kai has had few drinks at this point and has decided that the pins at the end of the lane, are his mortal enemies. He feels he must destroy them all by THROWING THE BALL WITH ALL HIS MIGHT in order to obliviate every last one of them!!! The only problem is, he only hits a few.

I was lucky enough to capture all of these RANDOM actions in about 1 minute and 22 seconds. Imagine what the rest of the night was like !!! What a great moment in time!!

Home is where ???

What is it about our love/hate relationship with home that's so complicated?

You're whole childhood, you claim, " If I get to move away from here, I WILL NEVER come back!". Then one day.....after spending some real time away, you realize how great home is! Home is what made you, good or bad. Its kind of crazy. They say that you don't know what you have till you can't get your hands on it anymore.
But here's the flip on that........Everyone should have the experience of LIVING away from where they grew up. I think there is a personal growth that takes place when you're out of that home environment.
Getting to know unfamiliar faces and places.....learning about how people in other areas deal with situations in a different manner than what you're use to......and just overcoming obsticles without that built in support system are all things that build on the foundation that home already established for you.
I don't know.........Just some thoughts as I sit here waiting my turn in the barber shop.....................BACK HOME!

Grandmom Cora Johnson - We Will Miss You.

What family, other than mine, could say that they had 5 generations Living???

Grandmom lived a long life, but more importantly, a happy one. My earliest memories of her are compiled with card games, fried chicken, jokes and Gin (her favorite.). It was nothing for Grandmom to cuss you out if she thought you were stepping out of line, or disrespecting your elders, but just as quickly, she would slip you a couple of dollars and send you home with a couple of pieces of her signature fried chicken. She traveled the country frequently with her daughter Florine (Me-mom.) She loved to say, "I aint letting no grass grow under MY feet!". She stayed on the go.

If she wasn't on the road, she was by her phone. As of late, it was nothing to get a call from Grandmom 2 to 3 times a week. Once I would remind her of which one of her great-grandchildren I was, she would put the rest of the pieces together and ask about everyone else. I would say, " This is Kyle, Grandmom......Debbie's Son." She would respond like clockwork and ask me about my wife, kids, and my in-laws. See, once you reminded her.....she would never forget. ( If that makes sense!)

There is so much: The family reunion trips to VA.....The visits to see us in Jersey.....Her coming to our little league games.....her glasses of Gin......the card playing.......the stories she told.....the cussing us out.......the love she gave to all around her!

We were lucky to have her on this earth for 102 YEARS...........and now that she's gone, I just hope that I can be just as much as an inspiration to the kids coming up under me.
